we may be in for a rough ride
Jeremiah 5:1-9 KJV
Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. [2] And though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely. [3] O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. [4] Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the Lord, nor the judgment of their God. [5] I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the Lord, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds. [6] Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased. [7] How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. [8] They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife. [9] Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

popcorn
when we were kids popcorn was a special treat. mom had a big 4 or 6 quart pot with a lid. she would cover the bottom with vegetable oil and then put it on the stove. back then we always had gas stoves. once the oil was good and hot she would then cover the bottom of the pot with popcorn. then put the lid on. popcorn would start popping. really the best part of the whole thing was the smell. it smelled wonderful. then she would pour melted butter and salt over the popcorn and give us each a little bowl. it never really seemed like very much popcorn but all the work that went into it and the smell was what made it worth it. thinking back on all the work that mom did all the hours all the clean up all the cooking. that's only one tiny part of all the stuff she did. she was living the dream.

apartment living
after living in three Denver apartments it is clear that apartments suck. there is any number of things that can go wrong, but there is only one right solution. the basic problem is other people. apartment dwellers are generally disgusting. not all of them, just enough of them to make apartments miserable. if there were weekend executions of the worst renters then after a couple of weeks apartments would be great. apartment living makes it clear why most people go into the lake of fire. they don't belong. in fact, you have to wonder if they are real or just cleverly disguised biological robots sent to test real humans. why would God create real humans just to trash them for eternity, is a question only God can answer.
what's weird is that with modern technology a few simple sensors and cameras could rat out bad renters immediately and kick them out. if they came back to harass or damage property a laser could kill them. it seems so simple.
