• one car is attempting to cross a main street at a stop sign. they pull out and cut off about half the lane of traffic to the left. a car coming from the left on main Street slows but is still going about 10 MPH. the car crossing inches out more. the car from the left hits them at about 10 MPH. obviously the car crossing failed to yield, but the car on main Street could have easily stopped or even swerved a little. life is weird, but pray God only calls you friend AFTER you get in the eternal Paradise.

it's my job to drive a bus. the bus looks like one of those Greyhound buses but we use it in the city. the bus is used to take people from a college to a different bus station. they're older people. then one day there are some problems getting to the bus. once inside the bus, it drives past the people without picking anyone up. before getting to the final destination the bus pulls into a separate bus station and then the bus somehow turns into a flexible piece of asphalt which can be pulled around on the ground. the bus gets out onto a grassy lawn and it turns back into a bus. there are two boys playing a game. they have a bunch of odd shaped bottles set up on the ground. one has grape jelly in it. they are knocking the bottles over with a softball. none of them break. the bus disappears. there's a second bus. after walking over to talk to that driver it is obvious that the bus is used for hauling materials instead of people. my business shoes are slightly uncomfortable.  in the dream one option is to call my wife, but decide to walk home. the end

6 months ago at the very very beginning of the pandemic I left my last job. I've been unemployed all through the pandemic. generally it's way more fun to get up a little later and go out driving to run errands after rush hour. the other day I got up and got out right in the middle of rush-hour. maybe I was just imagining it, but it seemed like everyone was driving slower and was just a little more sluggish in general. like the virus had taken a little something out of their attitude. they were tired of all the crazy whiplashing from the media. they were tired of all the hysteria of the liberals andn the Democrats. they were tired of death hanging over every doorway. they just wanted things to go back the way they were in the 1950s with the exception that blacks and minorities would be treated equally like they are today. and that blacks and minorities would be economically successful politically successful and religiously successful as they are today. otherwise it seems like everyone in their tired sluggish driving was saying can't we just go back to the 1950s but treat minorities with the respect that they were due?

the idea that God wants most people to make it into the eternal Paradise is silly. God is most likely infinite. if you talk to mathematicians they will be able to tell you that a being that is infinite doesn't have anything to gain or lose no matter if anyone makes it or no one makes it. if no one makes it oh well. humans look at their societies and look at humanity and they say well 90% of all people are pretty good. so probably 10% aren't going to make it. probably 90% will go into the eternal Paradise and 10% will go into the lake of fire. but this simply isn't what Jesus taught in Matthew chapter 7. Jesus said that almost everyone goes into destruction and only a very very few makes it into eternal life. he wasn't kidding. this isn't some kind of test that we just keep trying until 90% make it. God doesn't need you or me in the eternal Paradise to somehow round things out.

my life

my life has had distinct time periods.

• birth through high School
• college
• early work years
• marriage
• post-marriage

the years from birth until the early work years were reasonably straightforward. they were by no means average years but I followed a standard path that millions of people follow to reach adulthood. it probably would have gone better to quit my first job after about 18 months. instead that first job lasted 18 years.

some people might question this next statement, my marriage was a good choice. my wife and I were very unhappy together and the two things we were able to get out of the marriage were two beautiful kids and proof that the father son and holy Spirit can keep anybody together. we stayed married 33 years. she had attempted to commit suicide before we met. she did not do anything to harm herself throughout our entire marriage but shortly after she divorced me she died. it was kidney failure. I like the think she just couldn't live without me.

throughout my entire life I've seen the hand of God working repeatedly to accomplish things and to present opportunities that seemed divinely-inspired. this current phase is no different. for instance we used to do Bible study with a church organization and would get together at Easter each year. this year for the first time since the organization was founded they had to cancel the meeting at the end of 2019. this was before anyone realized that covid-19 was going to be so disruptive. so the meeting would have been cancelled anyway. you might say gee that just doesn't really seem like the hand of God, but I say it does. there are many other examples. for  instance the car I'm currently driving. it is not a car I would have chosen, but it was such a fantastic deal and it's almost a new car and it's a blast to drive. so when it's time to get a different car I won't resent the fact that it wasn't my first choice. it seems like it was God's first choice.

in America our lives are largely dictated by money. almost anyone can live anywhere. and there are many places, especially outside of cities that are very reasonable to live on a minimal income. but how you live there will be dictated by money. of course you can come up with oddball examples where somebody is living a fabulous life with almost no money but generally speaking the vast majority of people that don't have any money live a very simple basically poor life. that doesn't mean it has to be boring. you can do all kinds of outside activities and still travel. but you won't be traveling in style. 

so what does this next and probably last phase of my life hold? I plan on living alone. since hormones aren't driving most of my decisions it seems like alone is way more fun. and currently it seems like a good idea to remain somewhat mobile without large local responsibilities. it doesn't seem like having a big career at this point is a good career move. we'll see.

I've worked on some projects with blacks and we all work courteously and professionally. if anything blacks are treated better. white guys can be fired because, well, they're white. but blacks are not getting fired. there is not some deep seething undercurrent of racism in America from my experience. if you're black work hard and stay out of trouble and you won't get fired. I've had abusive bosses. if you get one i suggest leaving, but that's just me. if you are sexually harassed, you might set up a sting operation with police, but it is hard work and time consuming. men of all races are generally disgusting. it's easy to see why most men are headed for the lake of fire.

my big disappointment with scientists

there are two reasons the oceans could never rise one foot.

1. 75% of the Earth is covered in water already. where is all this new water coming from ?
2. the Earth is a ball. the diameter of the Earth is 7000 miles. to increase the diameter 1 foot requires more volume than 1 foot on a flat surface. there isn't enough ice on the land to raise the oceans much at all. some simple math would make this obvious.

we are spending too much time around other people. spending time with people is stressful. it requires many skills and involuntary functions that need time to recover and refresh. many health problems and stress related problems come from too much interaction with people. everyone is different, some people can interact more, some less. but regardless of your personality type, you as a person need recovery time away from people. that's what makes cities particularly evil. too many people crammed in together.

human vs popcorn

after watching several videos like magpie vs rat, polar bear vs walrus, seagull vs octopus, it seemed like fun to do my own narration.

the popcorn huddles closely together in the bowl following natural herding instincts. the human circles Warily and then walks off to the refrigerator to get a beer. but unfortunately the human returns to the popcorn bowl. the kernels under the top layer watch helplessly as their fellow fluffy popcorn is picked up in handfuls and deposited in the mouth of the human. the human then uses it's very hard teeth to crush the kernels into a mush which is then swallowed down the esophagus and into the stomach of the already somewhat overweight and out-of-shape human. this ruthless behavior continues has the popcorn slowly dwindles from the bowl. suddenly something interesting comes on television and diss tracks the human. the rest of the popcorn gets cold and the human loses interest throwing the remaining kernels into the trash can. on rare instances the human will choke on a hull which will cause it to cough and gag and finally give up eating the rest of the popcorn, but this did not happen tonight. the human laughs at some mindless drivel on TV and finish drinking the beer.

high voltage system on my car

so I just found out my car has two voltage systems. one is a 12-volt system and the other is a high-voltage system. okay exactly when did my car starting needing to have high voltage in it? so now if my car gets flooded with water I could be electrocuted. I'm driving around in a high powered electric chair. what are these guys thinking? there too many people on the planet what's electrocute some of them now all we need is a flood.

where are all the stories about ventilators? didn't did we suddenly come up with 8 billion ventilators that I missed? remember when it was the president's fault that every person didn't have five extra ventilators? is everybody going to have a ventilator that needs one mr. president? Don't you care about us don't you want us to have ventilators? where are those stories where the ventilators what's the matter with the press? they're falling down on the job! come on where are the ventilators where are the ventilator stories? did we send an extra hundred million ventilators to Russia like we promised them we would I mean what the heck's going on here? don't we care about our comrades-in-arms?

the question is not what can your car do, the question is what will the other drivers do. these people are not professional drivers.. and neither am I for that matter. today's mid-range vehicles will easily go 100 miles per hour. many of them will go far faster. a few of them will come close to 200 miles per hour, which really is insane no matter what track you are on. to get an idea of how insane 200 miles an hour is do a search for 190 mile per hour Honda crash. this Honda is on completely flat ground. it never hits anything but the ground. it is completely destroyed.

so, how do you drive on relatively crowded modern freeways given the ego-centric nature of human drivers? when cars are mostly self driving it won't matter, but for the next 5 years it's still a big part of the equation.

one solution is to drive a powerful car. if someone is blocking the left most Lane pull up behind them and flash your lights. very European.

another solution is to hang back and wait for the lane to open or for a reasonable Gap so you can weave through the opening quickly changing Lanes. some people stay stuck in the left lane, even if the right lane is open.


another solution is to drive late at night or choose roads that are less traveled. but the reality is there is no sure bet. with trucks, construction, control freaks and aliens there is no guarantee of carefree high velocity travel.

be prepared to show down and whistle Dixie or something if all else fails.

there is another strategy that sometimes works when out for a leisure cruise. just pull over and stop 5 minutes. when you start up again sometimes all the offending vehicles have magically disappeared. it almost seems divinely controlled at times.
