there's something wrong with humans. we feel compelled to come up with a half a dozen different names for the same thing. the software industry seems to be the worst. they're constantly renaming stuff. I remember the first time I heard the word persistence used to describe saving data saving data in a program. before this week at all always simply said put it in the database. but suddenly we were talking about persistence mechanisms. really? what's wrong with us?

then we have butterflies. everybody knows what a butterfly is. scientists know 3 year old kids now your mom knows your preacher knows everybody knows what a butterfly is. how many people know what this is?
