religion

why do we pay attention to religion? why do we study religious books? the answer probably revolves around death. if everyone that came here stayed here, and everyone from Adam and Eve on forward were still here, we would probably have a different perspective about what life means. especially if all the religious books said you're going to be here forever. there is nothing else. this is your eternal home. love it, there's no leaving it.

but the reality is we're here an incredibly short time. this process is designed to make it feel long, but as time wears on and you think about events over the decades it doesn't seem long at all. and as more and more people you know start to die you realize one of these days my number will be up. it's not that far away, and it never has been.

deep down inside we know we're being tested. but why? why good? why evil? why anything? the answer is simple but we rebel anyway.

we may not even think it, but every day we look in the mirror and say am I acting normal? if you don't act normal people are going to start looking at you weird pretty quick. and even if you know you're not acting normal you usually do it based on trying to send a message with your abnormality. maybe you're trying to stand out or maybe you're just tapped out, and trying to get someone to reach out.

sometimes we get too far out of our comfort zone and we start acting in ways that attempt to make the world fit our picture. if our behavior becomes too different from what everyone expects then they may be forced to take drastic action to control you. the world just doesn't look like what it should and you're out to fix it. how does mental illness happen? at what point have you gone off the rails? how do you know?
