installing android studio on chromebook

So it turns out that my chromebook will do some Linux stuff, but not android studio.
Here are the problems briefly:

1. Need about 8GB of ram/memory, I have 4.
2. Need AMD architechure, I have ARM

Also Need Linux, I have this, it was very easy to enable.

If you run install from a Linux window and see this:

dpkg: error processing archive /home/stephenenglishjohnson/android-studio-ide-192.6241897-cros.deb (--unpack):
 package architecture (amd64) does not match system (arm64)
Errors were encountered while processing:

or you can skip the install and put this URL into chrome browser:

chrome://system

scroll down to this:

uname

Linux localhost 3.18.0-19838-gc647e70c954a #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 9 22:57:55 PST 2020 aarch64 ARMv8 Processor rev 2 (v8l) GNU/Linux

If it looks like this with the ARM text, anroid studio will NOT work on your chromebook at this time.




And to think, I was this close to writing the next killer Android app that was going to take over the universe. Man !
